Reduced Size and Cost of Legislature Pennsylvania has one of the largest and most expensive legislatures in the country. Therefore we will push for a way to amend the constitution to reduce the size and cost of Pennsylvania’s state Legislature. No More Money from Lobbyists In an effort to create more transparency in campaign finance and to expose the influence of special interest on government officials, we want legislation making it illegal for elected officials and candidates to accept contributions, gifts or reimbursements from registered lobbyist. Term Limits for all Elected Officials The old saying is true—power corrupts. The current seniority system of our state legislature puts too much power in the hands of long-term legislators. This seems to be the major source of corruption. Therefore, we will push for a constitutional amendment to place term limits on members of the Pennsylvania House and Senate Family Friendly Public Policy We want to help place the focus of public policy decisions where it belongs – on the impact that new and existing policies have on Pennsylvania families, which are the foundation of the state’s economy and culture. Therefore, we want to create a Family Policy Advisory Committee inside the lieutenant governor’s office to conduct research and educate lawmakers about policies and issues and how they affect families.
