I would like to thank Rick Schenker for coming all the way up to Scranton Pennsylvania yesterday to stand up for senior citizens who are in jeopardy of going without Meals on Wheels. People were amazed that somebody would drive all the way up here, stand united with us and then have to drive back immediately. Rick did this, and we are very thankful for him, and we are supporting together the cause to downsize the state legislature in both cost and size.

Please join our petition as well. Thepowerofservice.com, and thank you Rick.

 Always and for the people

Allow me to correct a couple of factual errors posted on your website.

Regarding Mr. Stetler and his rejection of a plan to outsource campaign work, you wrote, "Charges are pending." That's false. Unnamed sources told the Post-Gazette prosecutors had not decided whether to charge him.

Regarding the Beaver Initiative for Growth, you wrote that Mr. Van Horne's claim that he was paid by BIG for work he did for the House of Representatives is "evidence that taxpayer funded grants were used to pay for campaigns."  I'm not quite sure how you managed to draw that conclusion, but Mr. Van Horne testified that he worked for the House of Representatives, not for a political campaign.

I look forward to seeing the necessary corrections.

Rick, The size of the legislature is not only a shameful waste of taxpayer money, it is a national embarrassment. Look how many House Districts we have just in Erie County alone!!  Most Pensylvanians don't even realize how bloated our state legislature is. I think if you work on getting this message out, people will be outraged if not embarrassed. I understand that PA legislators are also among the highest paid in the nation. For what??

I agree about picking your battles. You probably won't win the term limits fight ut a watchdog group could hold the corrupt politicians more accountable.

Rick, I WISH term limits weren't necessary. I wish the voters were ready, willings and able to fire their elected representatives and take charge of their legislature. But the system has become so corrupted, incumbents have become so insulated, that successfully challenging the status quo is akin to Don Quixote charging his windmills.

I don't know if this is just your windmill, Rick, but I certainly hope you're able to knock it down! Even if we don't get term limits written into the state constitution, maybe this campaign will wake folks up and help implement term limits the old-fashioned way -- at the ballot box.

Your just the man who can get things done. Your more knowledgable in government than most. This position is made for you. What an asset to PA if you were elected. FIght on. We're behind you all the way!

Rick tried to tackle corruption at a county level but was stopped by forces like county council who always parlayed every issue.  County Council and other orginizations could keep things in limbo for months, years and even throughout his entire term. The general public would have never known it because Council was continuously in denial.  Rick worked hard as the County Executive and will certainly work hard to see justice come to politics for the great state of Pennsylvania.  Let's not look at the issues and say they are out of our hands, let's tackle them one at a time by getting behind a candidate that is willing to fight for all of us.  Even those of us who have given up!

Don't listen this crap Rick.  You did a great job as County Executive and I know from inside information that you worked all the way until the end of your term even though you had some kind of health problem.

People are tired of professional politicians. They really do want citizen legislators. Citizens that will serve a few terms then go back and get a real job. These long-term legislators gain too much power and think they can do anything they want.

Keep it up.

Geez Rick, I thought we were done with you.  I don't like the way you stopped working for us before  your term was up as County Executive.  Why the heck should we think you would be different now?

Guest: Honesty and Trust need Restored...BUT!!!

I am so sorry I am an insider to Gov't and Politics, and term limits is a crock!

Term limits are every May and November, get off your BUTTS and go out and vote.

To me, this tells the voters, stay not caring, stay lazy --- THE VOTERS are to blame for this human condition.  We all fail when we get it too easy.. Agreed, some have been in way TOO LONG.... however, Term Limits only welcomes more corruption and you will soon get no one -- to run, because people if they see no career for them in serving others won't take the pay cut they take currently now...

Rick, you won't win this war. I am sorry!  Wishful thinking, but it is stupid.... and while I am at it, a Constitutional Convention is a great idea, we are due for another check up on this great system -- but, rick why now, do we need to change what has worked so well... we never had term limits before, this is a cop-out to good legislative ability.

crooking has always been around even before Jesus Christ, and will continue at least until the end of time as we know it.

I wish you great luck, but concentrate on picking a battle you can win, rather than, something as stupid as this... WE NEED GOOD CAREER POLITICIANS!  They can be down to earth and do it right but with the moral decay of current society this is what we have are thieves. And we need more citizen legislators... Less Fumo fat cats and more average joes. And, we all know, unless we are all stupid average joes can even run for President! They might not win but they can run.... Until we get rid of rich is best, we will have corruption.

Wow...this is a great site.

We are absolutely behind you on these issues. We need a government of citizen legislatures that have to go back to work in the private sector after serving in office, and we certainly don't need 253 legislators and the associated cost.

Let us know what you want us to do.
